Priyanka Chopra hits the ramp at LFW, 2014
Sizzling actress Priyanka Chopra set the ramp ablaze at the Lakme Fashion Week (LFW) Winter/Festive 2014 on Sunday, 24th August. She turned showstopper for veteran of the Fashion Industry, Varun Bahl as he made his comeback on this very ramp after a decade.
Varun Bahl unveiled his Diffusion collection presented by Reliance Trends. Revealing his distinct style statement for each creation, he ensured that it was a collection that will be coveted by women globally. The line-up of jackets, trousers, skirts and shirts were splashed with timeless hand embroidery. Varun Bahl’s signature rose motif appliqués were evident along with a profusion of embroidered flowers and leaves that were splashed creatively on the ensembles. There was a balance between structure and flow in his creation.
For the Grand Finale, the former beauty queen, Priyanka, sashayed on the runway in black palazzo pants, crop top in the same shade teamed with sliver sequenced jacket. With a stylish hairdo and a heavy neckpiece, the actress looked her absolute best.
"With winter on my mind, I created biker jackets lending them a twist of my own. One such interesting piece would by my gota jacket achieved by weaving gota strips together," said the designer who has discerning eye for detail. "I have included the white shirt as one of my key pieces," added Varun who is known for working intuitively.
When it came to colour palette, he zeroed on black, silver, grey, ivory, beige, pale pink, and powder blue. In terms of fabrics, he used trademark silk, tulle, cotton, crepe and duchesse-satin.
"As per my fashion sense, I like clothes that are normal. I get really shy with fancy clothes and this outfit is very wearable and comfortable," said PeeCee sharing her taste and choice in clothes.
And well..there’s something more that the actress told us. This diva, who is apparently a model turned actress and has won many awards for her much loved sexy model avatar in her film ‘Fashion’, is scared to walk on the ramp in real life!
She said that she often worries that she might trip on the runway. Before her walk on the runway at the event, the Bollywood Diva posted a few comments on Twitter, which went something like this. "On my way to #lakmefashionweek.. Walking the ramp always makes me nervous.. What if I trip?? Yikes. Pls don't say "break a leg"!Lol."
Dear Priyanka, you might have been nervous but you
definitely ended the LFW with lot of glamour and oomph . Way to go Girl!
