Priyanka Chopra handles Chris Martin’s gaffe ‘Katrina Kaif Kapoor’
British rock band Clodplay’s frontman Chris Martin goofed up Katrina Kaif’s name and referred to her as Katrina Kaif Kapoor, at the Global Citizen Festival in New York on Saturday (Sept. 24). It happened when the singer was announcing about the charity music festival’s debut India edition.
Priyanka Chopra, who co-hosted the event with Martin, managed to smooth over the Coldplay vocalist’s blunder of suffixing ‘Kapoor’ to Katrina’s name. Interestingly, Katrina had been in a long relationship with Ranbir Kapoor, before the two broke up some months ago.
A video clip of Martin making the announcements with the ‘Quantico’ actress has been shared on social media by a fan of Coldplay. “A clip of Chris Martin briefly speaking about Global Citizen India on stage at the #GlobalCitizenFestival - Sept 24,” the caption with the video read.
Priyanka handled the situation quite well. Without dwelling on the blunder, she coolly proceeded to talk about the Indian edition of the event and said it has got a huge potential as more than 50 percent of Indian population is below 25 years of age.
Global Citizen Festival is an annual music festival established in 2012. Chris Martin is the current creative director of the event. The Indian edition of the musical festival will be hosted in Mumbai on November 19. Special guests at the event will include Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan, Ranveer Singh, Katrina Kaif, Farhan Akhtar, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Arjun Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor along with music maestro A.R. Rahman, composer trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and singers Arijit Singh and Monali Thakur.
Priyanka will also collaborate with Chris Martin to perform in India.
