Preity Zinta to record statement at Wankhede stadium

Preity Zinta is back in Mumbai and she is expected to record her statement today. Preity wants to record her statement at her home instead of recording her statement at police station but she will now record her statement at Wankhede stadium where the incident took place. Marine drive police asked Preity to visit Wankhede stadium once for site inspection and site panchanama. She will visit the stadium around 4pm in the evening.

"We want to know exactly where she was sitting and who were these 'everyone' she was referring to," said an investigating officer. He also added. "We will decide on the next course of action once Preity's statement is recorded." Preity, in her written complaint said,"I left for my seat, but he (Ness) came up to me at my seat and started screaming and abusing me in front of everyone."

She has filed complaint against businessman and former lover Ness Wadia for harassing, abusing and threatening her during the IPL match between Kings XI Punjab and Chennai Super Kings on May 30. She lodged a complaint against Ness on June 12 after IPL ended.

Soon after issuing a statement Preity left for Los Angeles and police asked Preity to come down to the Marine drive police station and record her statement so that they can further carry out the investigation. No sooner Preity landed at Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport on Sunday, she was surrounded by media but she did not give any byte to them and later apologized media on facebook. She looked exhausted and got into her car without making any statement.

The Mumbai Police would record her statement either on Monday or Tuesday. "Since she has arrived here, her statement would be recorded either tomorrow or day after," said an official privy to the investigation.

Issuing a statement on her Facebook page, she said, "I would like to apologize to the media but it will not be possible for me to make any comments or statements as investigation is still on. So please co-operate and please don’t call my staff and friends non-stop as they have requested me to make this appeal to you on their behalf. Thank You”

Police interrogated few eye witnesses. They have also questioned IPL Chairman Ranjib Biswal regarding the spat between Preity and Ness Wadia on May 30. The statement of BCCI secretary Sanjay Patil has also been recorded. So far, the police have recorded eight statements.

Police had on Thursday questioned COO Sundar Raman who claimed that she had informed him about her May 30 spat with former boyfriend.
