Preity Zinta names witnesses in Ness Wadia case

The sensational Preity Zinta- Ness Wadia case reached an important turn when Preity Zinta gave a detailed statement to the police. Mumbai police had asked Preity to give a statement for the second time as her initial statement was vague in some points. As per reports, Zinta was not willing to visit the police station and police too were not keen to go to her home. But on Tuesday Police accompanied the actor to perhaps the best possible location, the place where the alleged incident took place, the Wankhede stadium.

During the day Preity Zinta first met with officials from the Crime Branch regarding the threat calls received by Ness Wadia’s secretary from a gangster. Later she went to the stadium accompanied by her lawyer. She gave her supplementary statement to the police.  She has returned from the US recently. Meanwhile police has been searching for eye-witnesses to find out what happened between Ness Wadia and Preity Zinta on 30th May during IPL match between Punjab and Mumbai.

The actor arrived at the Wankhede at around 6:40 pm in the evening.  A large number of media persons were present so extra number of policemen were also deployed. She showed policemen the three spots in the stadium where Ness allegedly abused and molested her. Preity has said to the police that several of Ness’s friends were present during the incident. According to police reports, Preity Zinta has named 14 witnesses. Police is expected to question the named witnesses soon. Among the witnesses are said to be two team staff members and an Australian national who is a relative of one of the team’s players.

Preity told the police that this Australian national asked Ness to keep quiet when he started abusing Preity.  Police later issued the following statement, “Preity has narrated the entire incident and it was required. We didn't have the list of the witnesses and wanted to know the name of the people from the three spots she has mentioned in her complaint. So, that is why the spot panchnama was done and her statement was recorded in BCCI office. There are 12- 14 new witnesses with us. We could not record direct evidence so far."  Police recorded the actor’s statement in the BCCI office located in the stadium.  Mean while Ness Wadia’s lawyer has said that his client will co-operate with the investigation and is ready to be questioned by the police.
