Preity Zinta Denies Rumors of Stake Sale
Preity Zinta has been in the headlines for months now. The year started well for her as her IPL team, Kings XI Punjab, performed really well in this year’s IPL. But things suddenly went downwards as news broke out that she has filed molestation charges against ex-boyfriend and Punjab team co-owner Ness Wadia. Nadia has since denied the charges and the investigation is going on. Shortly after the incident, Preity Zinta flew to the USA for ‘holiday’. Only a few days back rumor started circulating that Zinta will not be coming back anytime soon and has deiced to sell her stake in the Punjab IPL franchise.
Preity Zinta has now come out in the open to deny these rumors. Last Wednesday, she made posts on her Twitter account and said that she was amazed the by the amount of speculation that has taken place. She twitted, "A big Thank U 2all the people 4the support. Amazed at how much speculation in the media. No I'm not selling my stake or settling in the US". She further added, "So called sources say anything & its getting reported. Pls No hearsay. There are many IMP Issues in India which are much more news worthy." In her allegations, she claimed that during the 30th May match between Punjab and Mumbai team at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium, Ness Wadia had verbally abused her and grabbed her hand in public. Ness said that he was shocked to hear about the charges and claimed that they are totally baseless. Sources from the Wadia camp had claimed that Preity was angry with Ness’s recent closeness with another woman and this has led to the trouble between them. Preity and Ness was a couple from 2005 to 2009. After their breakup the two had remained business partners as co-owners of Kings XI Punjab.
However, things took a turn for the worse as Ness’s group lodged a police complaint on Wednesday, stating that they received a threat call from gangster Ravi Pujari warning them to not harass the actor. The secretary of Ness’s father Nusli Wadia, had received a call on Tuesday where a man wanted to speak with Nusli Wadia. When he was informed that the industrialist is out of the country, the man said that he is from the underworld and Preity Zinta should be left alone. Sometime later the secretary also received a threat SMS. Police have started their probe in the matter.
