Preity Zinta becomes item girl

Bollywood pretty gal Preity Zinta is doing something new that she had never done before. To everybody’s surprise, she is doing an item number in Sohail Khan’s Main Aur Mrs Khanna.

The leading actors of the film are Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor. The song will be shot in Australia and the composer duo Sajid-Wajid has composed the music for Preity’s hot number. It is directed by debutant director, Prem Soni. The film is still in the production stage and is expected to release by the end of 2008. Today, Preity has deviated from the mainstream cinema and concentrated on parallel stream. The Last Lear and Har Pal are two of her offbeat films that are going to release this year.

Item numbers are a trend in Bollywood and many popular actors have done it. Actors doing cameo in films is advantageous for both the filmmakers and the artists. It helps the actors to earn huge money in lesser amount of time and effort and helps the filmmakers to attract audience. Shahrukh Khan did an item number in Kaal, Krazzy 4 and Hey Babyy. Aishwarya Bachchan in Bunty And Bubli, Hrithik Roshan in Krazzy 4 and Shilpa Shetty is doing one in Karan Johar’s Dostana. And now Preity has joined the bandwagon of item numbers.
