Poster Out: Riteish, Pulkit in ‘Bangistan’

After successfully portraying a ruthless serial killer in the film ‘Ek Villain’, Ritiesh Deshmukh is now all set to play a terrorist. But this is no cruel, fanatic terrorist often seen in films as a stereotype. The 35 year old actor will be seen as a funny, rather dull terrorist.

This film in question is the upcoming comedy ‘Bangistan’. The first look poster of the film was released on Monday, 14th July. On the occasion, Ritiesh Deshmukh posted on Twitter, "BOOM!!!!!! That’s the first look of @Bangistan (sic)."  The poster features Ritiesh and his co-star, 30 year old Pulkit Samrat of ‘Fukrey’ fame. Both the actors have explosives wrapped around their bodies like a terrorist.  The film will be directed by Karan Anshuman and produced under the banner of Excel entertainment, co-owned by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar.  Farhan Akhter has said on Twitter, “‘Bangistan.’ One of the funniest scripts I’ve ever read. Delighted to be producing it. All the best, team."

Apart from Ritiesh Deshmukh and Pulkit Samrat, the film is also set to feature Bollywood beauty Jacqueline Fernandez in a special appearance. Actor Chandan Roy Sanyal(of ‘Kaminey’, ‘D-Day’ fame) will also be seen playing a key role. The poster gives out the impression that the film is going to be really funny.

The film follows two not so dangerous terrorists who are engaged on a mission that can change the face of the world. Riteish Deshmukh and Pulkit Samrat will be playing the two lovable terrorists who have been inspired by lofty ideals but do not have any extraordinary talents to fulfill them.  The film looks to engage viewers with a fast paced plot along with several funny, high-energy, silly yet entertaining incidents that can have a serious impact on World peace.

Ritiesh Deshmukh started 2014 with the Sajid Khan directed multi-starrer comedy, ‘Humshakals’. The film was blasted by critics and become a butt of jokes on social media. But Ritiesh made everyone forget that debacle with his performance in the revenge drama, ‘Ek Villain’. In the film, he played the antagonist for the first time in his career. His performance was praised by critics and audience alike and the film also became a hit.

Apart from Bollywood, Ritiesh will also be making his Marathi acting debut with the action packed film, ‘Laal Bhaari’. He was also the producer of the successful Marathi film ‘Balak Palak’ which he has decided to remake in Hindi.
