Poaching case: Salman, Sonali, Neelam, Saif to record statements today

Today, Salman Khan along with his ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain’ co-stars Sonali Bendre, Neelam, Salman Khan and Saif Ali Khan will appear before the Jodhpur court. One local resident Dushyant Singh will  also appear before court.

All the accused are expected to record their statement today. Possibility is also high that the accused might skip court appearance by citing work commitments.

Chief judicial magistrate Dalpat Singh Rajpurohit has directed them to record their statement after completion of assessment of all the witnesses in the court.

Salman Khan’s counsel Hastimal Sarswat told  that the prosecution has examined only 28 witnesses of the total 51.

The incident dates long back when the stars went to Jodhpur to shoot for Sooraj Barjatya’s family drama, ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain’. Salman Khan is the main accused and since 1998, the superstar is facing trial in poaching case of an endangered black buck in Jodhpur's Kankani village and possession of illegal arms.

The co-accused Saif Ali Khan, Sonali Bendre, Tabu and Neelam, had accompanied the Bollywood star in the shooting of the film 'Hum Saath Saath Hain' on October 1, 1998.

The court will pronounce the judgement of arms act case on January 18 in the presence of Salman Khan.

Apart from the stars, Dushyant Singh and Dinesh Ganware are the two more accused, claimed to have helped Salman in the hunting. Ganware has been on the run since the incident.

The postmortem and FSL reports confirmed that the mammals were killed by the expired firearms of Salman Khan.
