First Look: Glamorous Parineeti, clean shaven Ranveer in ‘Kil Dil’

Both Parineeti Chopra and Ranveer Singh are having a good run in their Bollywood careers. Ranveer has seen back to back success with ‘Ram-Leela’ and ‘Gunday’ and is being counted among the top young men in Bollywood right now.  Parineeti, on the other hand has received praise for her performances in ‘Shuddh Desi Romance’ and ‘Hasee Toh Phasee’.  With such rising stars in its cast, director Shaad Ali’s (of ‘Sathiya’, ‘Bunty aur Bubli’ fame) upcoming film, ‘Kil Dil’ is becoming a talking point in the industry.

Ranveer and Parineeti both tweeted recently that the shooting for the film has been wrapped up. The first look of the film has come out and in it they are joined by Pakistani actor Ali Zafar who is reportedly playing a boy from Kanpur. In the photo, Parineeti is seen in a glamorous avatar wearing a tube top while Ranveer is without his moustache, sporting a cowboy inspired look. Ranveer is known to be very fond of his moustache.  In an interview with the Hindustan Times the actor has said, "I would have grown my hair long and kept a similar beard if I wasn't playing (different) characters in my profession. That's how I would have been in my personal life. I'm very attached to my moustache, I love twirling it."

The cast of ‘Kil Dil’ also includes Bollywood veteran Govinda. A spokesperson from Yash Raj Films has said that the actor is playing an important role in the film. Govinda is all set to play his first fully negative role in this film although according to the actor, rather than being a typical bad guy this character is realistic. Rani Mukherji is also slated to make an appearance in the film. According to a source close to production, Govinda and Ranveer will be seen sharing the dance floor. Ranveer has shown some cool dance moves in the past and Govinda is quite famous for his dancing. Therefore we can all expect some fireworks.

The name of the film has been inspired from the Hollywood blockbuster ‘Kill Bill’ but whether it shares a similar plot is not known. Shaad Ali has only said that the film is “…about the tricks the heart plays on an unsuspecting victim of love…”.  Shaad Ali’s last directorial venture ‘Jhoom Barabar Jhoom’ (2007) was a big disappointment so he is looking to turn his fortunes with this new film. Produced by Aditya Chopra, the film is set to release on 14 November, 2014.
