Parineeti Claims She Was Misquoted About The Khans

Parineeti Chopra is still in the early stages of her Bollywood career. But so far she has an impressive run. Her first lead role was in the film ‘Ishaqzaade’. Though the film did not become a blockbuster, it was a success and her performance was heavily praised by the critics. Since then she has appeared in two films, ‘Shuddh Desi Romance’ and ‘Hasee Toh Phasee’. Both films were made on modest budget and did not have any big stars but did quite well.  In both cases Parineeti’s performances were considered one of the key factors.

With such momentum behind her it was widely expected that soon she will land a role in a major blockbuster opposite any top star of the industry, especially the Khans. But few days ago in an interview she was heard saying that she is turning down offers to work with the three Khans, Shahrukh, Aamir and Salman. Apparently she felt that she would have nothing significant to do in a film that starred any of these superstars and will be overshadowed by their larger than life images. Her comments became a talking point in the industry. Some people even raised the question how she could afford to do something like this so early in her career. It is worth mentioning that so far all her films have been with younger stars like Arjun Kapoor, Sidharth Malhotra, Sushant Singh Rajput and Ranveer Singh.

But within days, Parineeti has come out to clarify her comments which she felt were blown out of proportion. Last Thursday at the launch event of the Yash Raj's fashion store Diva'ni, she was talking to the reporters and she said, "I would just like to clarify a bit on that (what I said in that interview). That comment was blown out of proportion. It was an answer to a question that I was asked." She then went on to explain the whole thing, “I was asked if I was offered a film with senior actors. To that I answered, 'Yes, I have been offered those films but I didn't have much to do, so I did chose not to do'. I did not specifically take anybody's name…I am too new an actor to do something like that. I think it is a very insensitive thing to say if any actor says that." Interestingly Parineeti’s two upcoming projects are also opposite young stars, ‘Daawat-e-Ishq’ with Aditya Roy Kapur and ‘Kill Dil’ with Ranveer Singh.
