Pak shoemaker jailed for making Peshawari sandals for Shahrukh Khan

A Pakistani shoemaker named Jehangir Khan landed himself in jail after he made a pair of Peshawari sandals for Shahrukh Khan on the special request from the actor. Noor Jehan, SRK's cousin in Peshawar has asked Jehangir to make the chappals King Khan's resquest.

After Pak media learnt that Khan was about to send the Peshawari chappals made from deer’s skin to Shahrukh in India, he was arrested by Pakistanpolice. The shoemaker happens to be a big fan of Shahrukh Khan and when he received the special request from the Bollywood superstar, he could not turn down his request and made the special chappals for his matinee idol.

“Apparently Jahangir Khan is a big fan of Shahrukh and decided to send the Bollywood star a special gift, Peshawari sandals made out of deer skin, from his side,” a local police official said.

“Soon after the news spread, the wildlife department officials contacted us and filed a complaint. We had to go and pick up Jahangir who is now behind bars,” he said.

A wildlife official in Peshawar said that the probe is on to confirm whether the sandals are made truly made of deer's skin. “If he has used deer skin than he will face fine and prosecution as under wildlife laws,” the official said.

However, a latest update on the report is that Jahangir has been released from jail. A wildlife official said, “We have taken the deer skin chappals for examination to see whether they are made of deer skin or of other animal. We’ll find out the result on Monday".
