Big B, Kareena on the set of 'Satyagraha'
Director Prakash Jha is busy shooting for his political thriller, named ‘Satyagraha’. The film is inspired from the current political events taking place in India. To be more precise, it is based on the anti corruption movement lead be Anna Hazare. The star cast of ‘Satyagraha’ is impressive, it boasts of Amitabh Bachchan, Kareena Kapoor, Ajay Devgan, Manoj Bajpai, Arjun Rampal and Amrita Rao.
The Big B will be playing the character of idealist Anna Hazare. Manoj Bajpai is the corrupt politician and Kareena is an international journalist that covers the incidents as they unfold and report them to the international community.
The shooting for the film is going on at Bhopal at this moment. The whole team is there for the shoot and according to the grapevines is having a gala time. The senior Bachchan was seen mingling with all on the set and brainstorming about the characters and the script. He has a white bearded look with a spectacle. The look is almost like the one that he donned in Ramgopal Verma’s ‘Sarkar’. However, the former getup looked more sinister while in case of ‘Satyagraha’ the character looks a lot more amicable.
Incidentally, Bhopal is the town of the in-laws of Sr. Bachchan. Therefore, when he arrived in Bhopal for the shoot of ‘Satyagraha’, he bought his beta, bahu and poti along with him on Valentine’s Day (14th Feb 2013). He wrote in his blog about it as, “I brought along Abhishek and Aishwarya and little Aaradhya too with me in the plane, so they could meet their Nani, Jaya’s mother, who lives here, as also Jaya’s youngest sister and her family. The three A’s went back by the evening.”
The shooting is to continue for almost 3 months at Bhopal but Amitabh doesn’t seem intimidated by it, as he writes “It is going to be a start to finish film, so ‘home’ away from home shall be the city of Bhopal, the ‘son-in-law’s’ city. The ‘jamai’ as they are known in most languages of the country.”
He farther added, “Setting up your room for the next three
months, getting stuff from home in correct order has always been an exercise
nothing less than moving house, which we all know is an arduous experience by
itself. But I am happy to note that a sparse set up seems to be controllable,
than one that is filled with material which is hardly used…but there.”
