No rivalry between Arjun Kapoor, Ranveer Singh
The crew and cast of the movie ‘Gunday’ is now in Kolkata. They are shooting in the cultural capital of India as the story of the film is based on two coal mafias that operated in Bengal in the early 1970s. The lead male roles in the movie are played by young and dashing Arjun Kapoor and Ranveer Singh. The female lead in the film is played by the desi girl, Priyanaka Chopra. The director Ali Abbas Zafar is on a high after the success of his directional venture ‘Mere Brother ki Dulhan’ and we sure hope he does an encore with his second movie as well.
However, the grape vines are abuzz with rumors that not all is going on well at the film shoot in Kolkata. The two male heroes of the film are not in good term with each other and a sense of rivalry between them is the predominant feeling.
However, both the actors Arjun and Ranveer beg to differ. They are trying to present a happy face in front of the media and maintains saying that nothing is wrong in between them. Speaking about this Arjun even said, “We know each other from a time when we had not made it as actors. Ranveer is a very sporting person ... but we can’t do anything about these stories (of rivalry).”
We certainly hope for the youngster’s sake that the news are rumors only and not true. This is too early for a budding Bollywood actor to be tangled in rivalry. Instead of spending their energy on rivalry they need to focus on their performances and making better career decisions. If this is a ploy to get some attention for the film then it is certainly working out well and has grabbed the attention successfully.
Incidentally both the young actor has almost similar career
graphs in Bollywood. Both of them started off their career with a movie under ‘Yash
Raj Films’ banner. Ranveer Singh set foot on Bollywood with the film ‘Band
Baaja Baaraat’ in the year 2010 that won him the Filmfare award for best
debutant male actor. Arjun Kapoor debuted with the film ‘Ishaqzaade’ in the
year 2012 and received the Zee Cine awards for best debut male actor. Both
their maiden films did well in the box office and helped them gain the
confidence of the tinsel town.
