No Bollywood stars attend Dev Anand's funeral
Dev Anand’s fans expressed shocked on no attendance of any Bollywood stars for the last rites of the evergreen actor Dev Anand in London. None from Bollywood except Subroto Roy of Sahara group was present at the funeral which held at Putney Vale crematorium in South London a week after his death.
Around 200 people gathered at the cremation area including the Indian High Commissioner in Britain, Rajesh Prasad and Lord Meghnad Desai.
Dalvir Bansal, an ardent fan of Dev sahab said, “Dev Anand launched the career of many who went on to become big stars.
How come not a single one of them turned up. I had thought there`d be lots of stars and so, access might be difficult. So I came early to pay my respects. But I`m shocked to see that no one from Bollywood is here.”
Another fan too expressed his shock, “If a current superstar had died, I`m sure there`d have been people from Bollywood.”
