Neha Dhupia trolled on Twitter for anti-Modi tweet

Bollywood actress Neha Dhupia was severely criticised on the social media after she made a comment about the failure of government to provide relief to the citizens as heavy rains lashed Mumbai.

Taking a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his ‘#SelfiewithDaughter’ campaign, the former Miss India on Tuesday wrote on micro-blogging site Twitter, “One rain n the city comes to a standstill. Good governance is not about selfies n makin us do yoga,it's making sure ur citizens r safe.”

The actress also tweeted a warning for city dwellers to stay indoors. “Mumbaikars pls be warned traffic outside is terrible, roads r flooded the situation is getting worse by the minute. Step out only if u must!” she posted.

No sooner she made the tweet, Neha became the target of some Twitter trolls who called her “jobless”, “bimbo” etc.

A Twitter user by the name Bajrangi Thackeray (@Madan_Chikna) wrote, “Neha Dhupia is more jobless than Abhishek Bachchan, atleast he has a job of applying !dea hoardings all over the city.”

“neha dhupia leave cities, you clean your mind first,” wrote Sameer Gargey (@gargeys).

Kevin Braganza (@kevinsbraganza) tweeted, “After doing a Gandhi at IIFA, acting in Gandhi to Hitler & Pappu can't Dance sala & this Tweet its official Neha Dhupia is a congi supporter,” while another user posted a video and wrote, “When flop bimbos like Neha dhupia & Shruti Seth try to attack modi on social media.”

Notably, actress Shruti Seth also criticised Modi’s ‘#SelfiewithDaughter’ campaign calling it ‘eyewash’, while Richa Chadda also said the initiatiative would require “expensive (smart) phones.”
