Nargis Fakhri opens up about her marriage plans

Bollywood’s leggy actress Nargis Fakhri, who has been in the news for relationship status with actor-producer Uday Chopra has opened up about her marriage plans.

In an interview with DNA, the ‘Rockstar’ actress revealed about her marriage plans, why she left the country suddenly and the reason for avoiding the media.

She said that she had been keeping extremely unwell and had to check upon herself. “When I came here, I had arsenic and lead poisoning and no one knew what was wrong with me. The doctor tested me, but he was so scared because it was at a very high level and I asked him ‘What do I do?’” she was quoted as saying.

Nargis added that she cured herself with the help of Naturopathy and Ayurveda as she had seen her mother fighting cancer with “the herbal stuff and tinctures”, and the results amazed the doctor.

“…Then I cured myself. Ayurveda is based on naturopathy, herbs basically but it was a combination of different things that I researched and six months later I got the test done again and there was nothing! The doctor was like ‘Oh, my God! How did you do this?’ And I said I will tell you when I see you,” the actress said with a laugh.

According to her, if a doctor is surprised at the effect of Naturopathy and Ayurveda, then something’s wrong with the modern medical system, and that “we should know our own bodies and learn these things in school.”

When asked about her marriage plans, she quipped, “I am not into marriage. You look at all the marriages breaking down and all the people cheating on their marriages and you become cynical. Marriage is nothing but a label. Or when someone wants to have half of the assets of one’s spouse, but I have my own assets. I don’t need anyone else’s. I am an independent, educated woman, I make my own money, take care of my mom and I am single so I can do whatever I want, taking no one’s permission and that is the best part.”

Nargis couldn’t be a part of ‘Housefull 3’ promotions, and ‘Dishoom’ in which she had a brief role, as she was in the US. But she is promoting her upcoming film ‘Banjo’ in which she is the leading lady opposite Riteish Deshmukh.

The actress plays a musician from New York in the film directed by National Award winning Marathi director Ravi Jadhav who is making his Bollywood debut. Produced by Krishka Lulla of Eros International, 'Banjo' is slated to hit the theatres on September 23.
