My friendship with Alia is just for show, Arjun Kapoor

Arjun Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s sizzling chemistry has been the talk of the town since the promos of their upcoming movie ‘2 States’ started trickling out. But, it seems Arjun Kapoor is not happy with the reports about his and Alia’s rumoured romance. His behaviour at a recent press conference was quite clear on this account.

According to media reports, when asked about his relationship with co-star Alia Bhatt during the promotions of their film, ‘2 States’ Arjun seemed quite irked. A bystander at the scene was quoted saying, “Arjun was asked about his link up with Alia and he got irritated. When he was asked again the actor fired back, “Yes you are right. We get along well. And when we work on a horror film, we will hate each other during the promotion! What do you expect?”

A smiling Alia looked on while Arjun continued, “Everything is for show. My friendship with Ranveer is just for show too. And this friendship with Alia too, is for show.”

Arjun stopped when Alia interrupted and said, “We even hit each other. But that’s only in jest and affection.”

Reportedly, after Arjun lost his mom, Mona Kapoor, in 2012 when his debut film ‘Ishqzaade’ was about to release he was ‘devastated’ and was not able to absorb the success because of his personal loss.

Later, his right wrist was found to be inked with the word ‘Maa’ in Hindi. It was done sometime in January, but even though he was part of a number of promotional activities for ‘Gunday’, he made sure the tattoo did not grab media attention.

And a friend had reportedly explained that, “He doesn’t like his personal life to be gossiped about. The tattoo is just an expression of revealing how much he misses his mom every day.”

This explains the media-shy actor’s recent behavior with the press.

Before his acting career in Bollywood, Arjun was seen as an assistant director for ‘Kal Ho Naa Ho’ in 2003. He also worked as an assistant director for ‘Salaam-E-Ishq’ in 2007.

At present, Arjun and Alia are busy promoting their upcoming movie ‘2 States’ which is slated to hit theatres on April 18.

‘2 States’ is a romantic comedy film directed by Abhishek Varman based on the famous novel by the same name written by Chetan Bhagat. The movie is produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and Karan Johar.
