Munnabhai meets George Bush
There’s been a lot of buzz and hype over US President George Bush’s near pending visit to India. While everyone wants to catch a glimpse of the most powerful man in the world, can our bollywood biggies be far behind. Well, whether they actually get to visit him in person remains to be seen, however our desi boy Sanjay Dutt will definitely share screen space with him.
Bollywood writer-director Raju Hirani, who made the movie Munnabhai MBBS, has commenced work on the script of his next film that is going to be titled Munnabhai Meets George Bush. According to writer Hirani, the idea was given by Sanjay Dutt and they will be working on this sequel a little later. Munnabhai MBBS was a smash hit at the box office; it was an outright comedy that received much appreciation. Sanjay Dutt, previously known as a serious action hero, made a mark as a comic hero. He received much applause for his work. Currently they are doing the sequel Munnabhai Meets The Mahatma which has actor Vidya Balan along with Sanjay in the lead roles.
However, if Sanjay Dutt is unable to meet George Bush in reality, special effects will be used to create the scenes. In spite of this Sanjay is all gung ho about the project. The two characters of Munnabhai and Circuit will be retained in this film and there is a possibility of a new girl being roped in to play the lead.
Another reason for all the excitement is that an international production house is in negotiations with producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra for the rights of the film Munnabhai MBBS. They want to make an English version of the film which will be directed by Mira Nair and will be titled Gangsta MD. Hollywood’s funnyman Chris Tucker will essay the role of Sanju baba as Munnabhai.
After bollywood remaking so many versions of several Hollywood films, the making of an original bollywood script into a Hollywood film comes as a long awaited refresher. Finally bollywood is coming into its own and making a mark in the world entertainment industry.
