‘MS Dhoni - The Untold Story’ crosses Rs 50 crore mark in 3 days
‘MS Dhoni - The Untold Story’, a biopic based on ace Indian cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni has strike gold at the box-office. The film has crossed 50 crore mark in three days and is going strong at the ticket counter.
Directed by Neeraj Pandey, the film earned Rs 21.30 crore on the opening Friday and collected Rs 20.60 crore on Saturday. It is highly speculated that the film has earn around 22 crore on Sunday, making a grand total of Rs 50 crore in the opening weekend.
It became the second highest first-day grosser after Salman Khan starrer ‘Sultan’. With no big releases next week, ‘MS Dhoni - The Untold Story’ is expected to run great at the box-office.
Both in single theatres and multiplexes, ‘MS Dhoni - The Untold Story’ is doing a great business. Factors like positive words of mouth, good reviews, a biopic based on most loved cricketer MS Dhoni and his untold story is dragging the audience to the theatres.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh speculated about the film figure, he tweeted “#MSDhoniTheUntoldStory is OUTSTANDING on Sat… Fri 21.30 cr, Sat 20.60 cr. Total: ? 41.90 cr. India biz… Heading for ? 60 cr+ weekend!.”
Speaking about performances, Sushant Singh Rajput’s portrayal of MS Dhoni is highly appreciated, Anupam Kher and Rajesh Sharma added charm to the biopic. Disha Patani seen as the cricketer's first girlfriend and Kiara Advani portraying the character of Dhoni's wife Sakshi Dhoni is highly liked.
With festive season round the corner, ‘MS Dhoni - The Untold Story’ is expected to grow in the coming days.
