‘Mom’ trailer 2: Sridevi turns vengeful for her missing daughter

The second trailer of Sridevi’s upcoming suspense drama ‘Mom’ released a second trailer on Friday. The first trailer released earlier this month ended with a scene where Sridevi’s character Devika’s daughter Arya address her mother as ‘Ma’am’ saying that she is not her real daughter.

The just-released trailer begins with that scene. Sridevi has an intense look with a mix of various emotions like worry, fear and determination. Nawazuddin Siddiqui tells her that he can understand what she is going through, but Sridevi replies that nobody can understand what she is feeling. The line ‘Nobody knows what a mother is feeling’ flashes through the one-minute-long trailer. The trailer ends with a protective mom Sridevi telling her daughter’s tormentors, “Kya chilla rahe thhe tum log? Bula apni Maa ko? Aa gai uski Maa (What were you screaming? Call your mom? Here’s her mom).”

The background music is fast paced and gives the feeling of a thriller, very appropriate with the film. Sridevi and Nawazuddin, who plays the character of Dayashankar Kapoor aka DK, get the maximum screen time in the trailer. Akshaye Khanna and Pakistani actress Sajal Ali who plays Arya, also have passing shots. DK’s character appears to be more than what meets the eye, but the carefully crafted trailer gives out very little in terms of the films plotline.

The film also stars Pakistani actor Adnan Siddiqui in the role of Sridevi’s screen husband, and there is also a glimpse of him in the new trailer.

Written and directed by Ravi Udyawar and produced by Boney Kapoor, 'Mom' is all set to release on July 7.
