‘Meri Pyaari Bindu’ trailer ch-1: Ayushmann, Parineeti meet as kids

Parineeti Chopra and Ayushmann Khurrana launched the trailer of their upcoming film ‘Meri Pyaari Bindu’ at an event in Mumbai today. In the movie, Ayushmann plays a Bengali pulp fiction writer Abhimanyu Roy, and the makers have decided to release the trailer in ‘five chapters’ one by one. Trailer – Chapter 1, titled ‘Samosa and Chutney’ has been released, while the other four chapters will be out later.

The almost two-minute long trailer has Ayushmann’s voice narrating how he met Parineeti’s character Bindu, who plays an aspiring singer in the movie. However, the trailer doesn’t show either of the actors. Rather, two kids, featuring as the younger versions of Abhimanyu and Bindu appear on screen. Ayushmann’s voice describes Bindu as a thunderstorm in his life that came quietly, when her family moved in as their neighbours, back in 1983 when Kapil Dev won the World Cup. His mother sends him with some samosas and green chutney for the new neighbours, and the two kids bond over the snack. The boy is already smitten by the sassy girl, who lends him her headphone to listen to the song saying, “This will change your life.” The boy wonders what she means… whether it is the music, headphones or she herself!

The relationship between the two children is extremely charming, and it has hiked the interest in the movie.

Parineeti will be seen after a long gap in ‘Meri Pyaari Bindu’. She was last seen in 2014 film ‘Kill Dil’ that also starred Ranveer Singh, Ali Zafar and Govinda. Besides, she featured in an item song last year with Varun Dhawan in his film ‘Dishoom’. The actress is also making her singing debut with the film and the song crooned by her titled, ‘Maana Ke Hum Yaar Nahin’ released recently.

‘Meri Pyaari Bindu’ is a rom-com by Yash Raj Films produced by Maneesh Sharma and directed by Akshay Roy. It is slated to hit theatres on May 12.
