Standing on the threshold of a new year, as you and I anticipate the arrival of 2012 with fresh lease of hope, it is worth reminiscing some of the landmark happenings- the happenings to have scintillated and stormed their ways through Bollywood
1. Salman on a cricketing spree
Spearheading a huge bandwagon of film stars, Salman made his move to Dubai to jumpstart another round of celeb struck cricket series. Peppered with oodles of glamour; the so called “Celebrity Cricket League” had made its esteemed presence in the vibrant bounds of Dubai. Brother and trusted accomplice- Sohail Khan assured all and sundry of a breathtaking performance.
2. Aishwarya & her Beti B
Bollywood fans and nation as a whole had themselves on cloud nine as news poured in about Bachchan bahu’s pregnancy. With speculations and counter speculation doing the rounds, the hilariously divergent view on issues of gender was settled once the sparklingly beautiful Aish gave birth to another of her own kind. Much against the rumors of a hurried comeback, the grapevine has it that the pretty princess will take quite some time before making a reentry.
3. Salman continues with his spree of success
The mesmerizing lover boy had the box office bowled over by consecutive successes of ‘Ready’ & ‘Bodyguard’. While Bodyguard happened to be an action packed bonanza- ‘Ready’ was marked by dashes of humor and witty punch lines.
4. Loss of iconic legends
Birth and death may reveal diametrically opposite facets of life- but they are glaringly true and inevitable. Similar to its multifaceted gains, 2011 also witnessed the loss of quite a few iconic wonders of Bollywood. The year put to rest two of its penchant performers Dev Ananad and Shammi Kapoor. While the former happened to be one of B town’s stylish delineators; the latter was proverbial for mastering rhythm. Loss was also to strike its musical arena with the passing away of Jagjit Singh and profusely talented Bhupen Hazarika
5. Hot & scintillating Vidya Balan
The question wasn’t of boldness but that of its extent- as to how bold she was. It all geared to Vidya Balan’s role in ‘Dirty Picture’. Also including Emraan Hashmi, Tushaar Kapoor & Naseeruddin Shah- Vidya had little qualms about her flabbergasting display of boldness.
6. Stylish divas at the Indian ‘Grand Prix’
The racing circuit became the favored haunt of glitz and glamour as the circuit at Lap Buddh in Greater Noida hosted the first ever racing version of its kind.
