Manyata wins divorce case

Actor Sanjay Dutt and Manyata heaved a sigh of relief when Additional Sessions Judge remarked Mehraj and Manyata’s divorce to be legal and withheld Mehraj’s case of bigamy against Manyata. Sanjay and Manyata were asked to appear before the court regarding the issue.

According to Mehraj, he cannot treat his marriage to be legally ended as he was not informed by the qazi that they were separated legally. According to Muslim law, the qazi should inform him regarding the divorce. But Judge S N Sardesai refuted Mehraj’s stand and said that for ‘Khulla’, the wife is not required to inform her husband. She has all the right and freedom to divorce her husband under any circumstances.

Mehraj is now planning to appeal in the High court challenging session court order. "The court has not considered our arguments about the credibility of the qazi, who is a fraud," said Mehraj’s advocate Tasleem Khan. For a long time, Manyata and Sanjay are fighting for the legality of their marriage. To save their marriage and to escape out from Mehraj’s allegation, they even had to declare their marriage illegal.
