Manyata planning for Sanjay’s comeback, signs Phabhu Deva

While Sanjay Dutt is in jail serving his punishment term of three and a half years, his wife Manyata does not want to leave any stone unturned for the mega come back of his husband in Bollywood after he finishes his term. She has signed Prabhu Dheva for Sanjay’s home production movie. The lead will be played by Sanjay after he comes back from Pune jail.

Manyata went to Yerwada Jail and met Sanjay Dutt on 3rd July. There, both of them planned for his comeback. Manyata also gave him the feedback for recently released movie ‘Policegiri’ which did not receive very good response from audience. There the decision to sign Prabhu Dheva was jointly taken by the couple. Prabhu Deva has a good track record in directing movies like ‘Rowdy Rathore’ and ‘Wanted’.

Sanjay and Manyata had launched their production house with lots of fanfare some three to four years back. But the constant case proceedings of Sanjay as well as his arrest didn’t let him give the well deserved attention to the production house. Also Manyata is unable to single handedly manage the production house as she has less experience in this field.

Ever since the arrest of Sanjay Dutt was announced, the couple was worried about Sanjay’s career progression post jail phase. The couple also approached their trusted friends and Bollywood actors Ajay Devgn and Salman Khan for advice.

Before his arrest, in March Sanjay Dutt was in talks with Rajkumar Hirani for directing another part of ‘Munna Bhai’ series. Sanjay Dutt himself had made the announcement saying that “I am happy that it’s (Munna Bhai 3) shaping up now because it had to happen ultimately. I just want to clear on one thing: Munna Bhai 3 is going to be directed by Raju Hirani. The fourth part will be done by Subhash (Kapoor).” Sanjay added, “That’s what I wish and want.” He further said, “Yes, it will definitely happen like that (with Hirani as director).”

When asked why the next part took so long to be made, Sanjay said, “It has to go beyond Lage Raho... but I think Raju and the team has cracked the idea this time. It makes me feel good that people still want to watch Munna Bhai after such a long time.” It seems with the arrest of Sanjay Dutt, the fate of ‘Munnabhai’ series has again got dented. Audience will have to wait for another 3-4 years at least.
