Tiger Pataudi passes away
After remaining in the ICU of Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in New Delhi for few weeks, former captain of Indian cricket team Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi breathed his last in the evening. He was 70. For the last few days, his health was a big concern. He was in the ICU under "very high level of oxygen support".
He was suffering from lung infection and was admitted twice last month. “He passed away around 6.30 pm. His condition had deteriorated since Wednesday. He was suffering from interstitial lung disease (interstitial pneumonitis) which worsens rapidly in spite of the best treatment available,” informs Dr S.P. Byotra, Department of medicine of Sir Ganga Ram Hospital.
Nawab Pataudi was one of the finest cricketers of our country. He was called the Tiger. It was a sad day for cricket and for all.
