Mamta Kulkarni declares absconder, seized her Mumbai property

Former Bollywood actress and one of the prime accused of 2016 multi-crore drug racket, Mamta Kulkarni was declared as abounding by a special NDPS court and ordered to seize her properties in Mumbai.

Last week, special NDPS court judge, H M Patwardhan ordered the addon of three luxurious flats of Kulkarni in various areas of Mumbai. It all happened after she failed to appear before the court in connection with the drug case. The present value of these flats is said to be around Rs 20 crore.

Special Public Prosecutor Shishir Hirey informed that the court directed for attachment of the three properties of Kulkarni after the prosecution moved an application for it.

Mamta’s husband and drag mafia Vicky Goswami is a prime accused in the drug racket case.

In 2016, addressing the media, Thane CP Paramvir Singh said that police probe reveals that Mamta and Vicky were the masterminds behind the drug racket.

Police probed that on January 8, Mamta Kulkarni had a meeting with international drug mafia Abdullah to discuss how drugs can be taken to India.

CP Paramvir Singh further said that the details of the case were shared by American Drug Enforcement officials. Abdullah reportedly tried to set up a factory in Mombasa in Kenya.

Singh added that Vicky's agent received 100 kilograms of Ephedrine in Mumbai which was handed over to Vicky.

Police also said that the drug company by the name Avaon Life Science is operating in Solapur.

Mamta Kulkarni's involvement came into forefront when Thane Police seized 20 tonnes of ephedrine in a record haul in April, 2016 worth Rs 2,000 crore.
