Madhuri shy doing intense scene with Naseeruddin Shah
‘Dedh Ishqiya’ is a sequel to 2010 hit movie ‘Ishqiya’. In the sequel, Madhuri Dixit and Huma Qureshi are the new additions while Naseeruddin Shah and Arshad Warsi will continue their roles from the prequel.
At the launch of the trailer of the movie, Madhuri said, “I was not nervous working with him. His eyes had an intense feeling. Whenever we did intense scenes, I was feeling shy. He is a natural actor, you just have to react when you act with him.”
She then said, “I was comfortable working with him. I was just playing the character... had fun.”
Madhuri Dixit is playing the role of a begum in this movie. She has grey shades to her character.
Madhuri said, “I had seen ‘Ishqiya’ and had loved it. They approached me for the sequel... I loved my character and the story very much. It was a tight script with romance, trust, betrayal and other elements.”
She added, “We shot in remote areas... Travelled almost two hours... Shot in dirty locations. We all worked very hard and it was great fun with the team.”
Madhuri is also acting in another woman oriented movie called ‘Gulaab Gang’. She is playing a very powerful role inspired from real life ‘Gulaabi Gang’. This gang fights for the injustice on women. They operate from Bundelkhand area of Central India.
Madhuri is happy to act in the movies with different subjects. She said, “Both the films and the characters are very different. I will be seen in different avatars. I feel fortunate to be part of such different projects.”
Madhuri is back on silver screen after a gap of almost six years. She last did ‘Aaja Nachle’. This year though she appeared in ‘Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani’, it was only for a song. She danced on a song with Ranbir Kapoor.
Madhuri feels that film making has become more organized with the passing years. She said, “There are changes in the film industry like today filmmakers are shooting in remote areas, today things are more discplined, the scripts are ready, everything is finalised before, it is all well planned so that actors have to come and perform.”
She also said, “Today promotions, marketing have become a big deal. Promotions are hectic.”
