His sports teacher notices his goal keeping skills and makes him the wicket-keeper of the cricket team. His game improves by the day, but his parents want him to study and get a job. He takes up the job of a TC and his family is happy, but he continues his cricket practice. Eventually, he convinces his father and pursues cricket as profession.

The later part of the trailer reveals Dhoni as a cricketer of the national team telling the selectors to drop three players from the ODI team as they don’t “fit.” A person is then seen exclaiming that Dhoni wants to throw out those who helped him reach where he is. They are seen discussing that Dhoni is not going to stop at this. The trailer ends with the voice of commentator Ravi Shashtri praising Dhoni’s captaincy leading to India lifting the World Cup after 28 years in 2011.

The three-minute-long trailer also shows brief glimpses of Dhoni romantic life. Anupam Kher plays Dhoni’s father, while Kiara Advani essays the role of his wife Sakshi Rawat. Bhoomika Chawla and Kumud Mishra also play important roles.
