Konkona Sen Sharma turns golden girl at LFW, 2014
Dusky Diva Konkona Sen Sharma put her best fashion foot forward when she gracefully displayed the creation of fashion designer Anavila Mishra on Day 3 of Lakme Fashion Week (LFW), winter-festive 2014.
The actress flaunted herself in a dazzling metallic sari, from the Mohenjo Daro collection, draped like a dhoti with yellow-gold and rust-gold blocking teamed with a gold metallic blouse. Konkana had adorned herself with a bronze neckpiece, a low bun hairdo and minimal make-up. She was the showstopper for the day.
After the grand show, the 'Page 3' actress, told us that she was "thrilled" about the ramp walk and said, “I am not really closely associated with Lakme but I am very fond of Anavila’s collections. I admire her work and her collections go with my sensibilities."
“Her collections are subtle and rustic, which is inspired from history. I am feeling great wearing this,” she further added.
The collection Mohenjo Daro endorses traditional wear. It is a blend of block printed lose kurtis and saris with shirt blouses. The catch to this collection is the handmade Indus motifs on the hand woven textiles. The designer made use of natural fabrics like linen, silk and cotton in lovely shades of navy blue, off white, mehendi green and rust red, among many others. The bold use of Ajrak printing and over-dying of fabrics was definitely a plus point, and gave the collection a rustic look.
Konkana really set all our hearts racing with the new glam look!
On Day 1, former Miss Universe Sushmita Sen stunned the audience as the showstopper, fitted in a sexy nude and black full sleeved dress with an open paneled skirt, designed by Amit Aggarwal. Smokey eyes and nude lips completed the divas look, who later shared, "Sexy is what sexy does, and that's why I love Amit's clothes because I feel sexy wearing them."
On the same day, Shilpa Shetty walked the ramp in a blue, white and gold printed cut-out gown with an attached dupatta drape. The yummy mummy sported a bouffant bun with smokey eyes and strappy black heels, for the designer Masaba Gupta.
On Day 2, hot Jacqueline Fernandez turned bride and show stopper for Anju Modi. Jacqueline was dressed in a glittering lehenga, fully embroidered long sleeved choli and net dupatta, along with beautiful jewelry to complement her look. Anju's collection was a story of reincarnation called 'Manikarnika'. Presented by Reliance Jewels, the designer revived the age old craft and ancient techniques.
Well, the LFW, which ends on Sunday has a lot more in store for you. So, keep watching!
