‘Koffee With Karan 5’ to have Fawad Khan and not SRK as its first guest?

Popular celebrity talk show ‘Koffee with Karan’ is returning on television with season five of the show and Pakistani hunk Fawad Khan will be the first guest.

According to reports, the show’s host Karan Johar has chosen Fawad for the premiere episode of the upcoming season. The ‘Khoobsurat’ actor will be accompanied by Alia Bhatt and Deepika Padukone.

Fawad has worked with Alia in Karan’s production ‘Kapoor & Sons’ alongside Rishi Kapoor and Sidharth Malhotra. He played a homosexual character with much subtlety and earned accolades for his role. He will also be seen romancing Deepika in an upcoming movie, as per the report.

Fawad will be next seen in Karan’s directorial venture ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ which also stars Ranbir Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Anushka Sharma. In the romantic drama, Fawad will be seen in the pivotal role of a hot DJ named Ali. The teaser and the title song of the film is already out and the movie is slated to release on October 28.

Karan had earlier said that the opening episode of the show will have his buddy Shah Rukh Khan as the guest, who had also appeared in the premiere episodes of the first two seasons of the chat show. But the filmmaker seems to have changed his plans.

Some months back when a fan tweeted about his show and asked, “Kya aap Shahrukh sir Ko #koffeewithkaran mein bulayengy"? Karan had replied saying, "yes!!! Opening episode has to be him and no one else."

‘Koffee with Karan’ is known for its scandalous questions and controversial answers, and the revelations made by celebrities. It has segments like ‘Lie-O-Metre’ and ‘Rapid Fire’ which often creats fodder for controversies.
