'Khiladi 786' marks the return of Akshay in his ‘Khiladi’ avatar
“Khiladi 786” is the next big release before “Dabangg 2” hits the screens. The film stars Asin Thottumkal and Akshay Kumar. This pair was last seen in “Housefull 2” which had crossed the 100-crore mark and something similar is being expected from this film as well. The film is all set for a release on the 7th of December.
“Khiladi 786” is an action flick that also blends in certain capers and Akshay Kumar is known to do justice to this genre. His last release on the same lines had been “Rowdy Rathore” that saw the pinnacle of success. Also as an instance of gimmick, one can recollect Akshay being popularly known as ‘Khiladi’ Kumar. The tag has been attached to him for certain convincing reasons. He, in the 90s did a string of action films that were all tagged as belonging to the ‘Khiladi’ series.
What has been revealed about this film is that it had earlier been titled “Punjabi Rajinikanth”. Reason being that the film’s protagonist Bahattar Singh is a character that is larger-than-life quite similar to the way Rajinikanth is portrayed in films. A source claimed, “The protagonist is a character jisko koi ek kharoch bhi nahin maar sakta. In a way, he's invincible and can do wonders, just like Rajinikanth. The only difference is that he's from the north."
The songs of this film have been amassing great popularity. Each song that has got released has been able to surpass the popularity of the previously released song. Songs like “Hookah Bar”, “Saari Saari Raat, and “Balma” have become chartbusters. The music of this film has been composed by Himesh Reshammiya and it definitely hints at him being in great form.
Interestingly, Himesh has also co-produced this film along with Akshay Kumar and shows tremendous confidence about this film doing great business. He said, “As far as Rs. 100 crore is concerned, I am 100% sure and pray that the record Akshay Kumar has set with Rowdy Rathore and OMG Oh My God! this year, in Khiladi 786, we will surely cross that figure.”
Akshay Kumar saw tremendous success
this year with “Rowdy Rathore” that even the failure of “Joker” could not fade
away. Asin, on the other hand, is the only actress to have done the maximum
number of films that have grossed 100-crores at the box-office. It started with
her first film, “Ghajini” and the winning streak refuses to diminish.
“Housefull 2”, “Bol Bachchan” and “Ready” have all been massive hits and belong
to the 100-crore club. We only hope that both the leads create the same magic
