‘Khiladi 786’ earns 11 crore in the opening day
Akshay Kumar failed to impress his audience with the new Khiladi installment, ‘Khiladi 786’. The film gets mixed review from critics and had an average opening at the box-office. The film has been able to garner only Rs 11 crore in the first day. The film failed to strike gold at the box-office due to poor script.
Released in more than 2700 screens across the world, the film did a good business in the single theatres (UP and Bihar) but the multiplexes showed very limited occupancy. Going by the record, it is expected that the movie may able to collect 30 crore next weekend.
Except ‘Khiladi 786’, Akshay Kumar had a fabulous 2012. He had three hits at the box office this year which include Housefull 2, Rowdy Rathore and his home production OMG! Oh My God. In the opening day, the Akshay and Asin starrer has registered 75% to 90% occupancy in single screens and 70% to 85% occupancy in multiplexes.
Directed by Ashish R Mohan, ‘Khiladi 786’ was banned in Pakistan as it is said that it would hurt the religious sentiments due to the use of the number 786.
Due to poor reviews, audience did not go for the show and they rejected the film. But, the film took a good start in Lucknow, Meerut, Nagpur, Indore and other small centres
