KBC 7 raised its curtain with classic songs of Big B

On 6th September, ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati 2013’ (KBC) telecasted its first show. The first episode was made impressive by classic songs of megastar Amitabh Bachchan sung by singer Sonu Nigam. Their combination added entertainment value to the show. Viewers witnessed a grand opening of their favorite reality game show ‘KBC’.

The chartbuster songs like ‘Dilbar mere’ and ‘Saara zamaana haseeno ka deewana’ took the tension off from the 10 contestants who will be competing for the grand prize money of 7 crores. This is the seventh season of KBC. With a few changes and modifications, the show felt fresh as numerous viewers waited for long for this show to get aired. The promotional campaigns were very interestingly laid rolled out and helped in gathering a huge viewership.

As Amitabh made an entry on the show, Sonu sang his favorite number ‘Intehaan ho gai intezar ki’ which very well represented the feelings of the viewers. Both Amitabh and Sonu sang and performed on the numbers ‘Yamma yamma’ and ‘Mach gaya shor saari nagri mein’.

After their combined performance, Amitabh Bachchan preceded the show and told viewers that this season of KBC will roll for 13 weeks. He then announced the jackpot sum of 7 crores.

He then told the contestants that the way to ‘hot seat’ was the same which is ‘fastest finger first’ with a little modification. It will be now called as ‘Best of the three’. He told them that now, a set of three questions will be asked and an average of the total time taken by the contestants to answer will give an opportunity to that contestant whose average remains least.

The first episode saw an equal number of male and female contestants. The first contestant to come on the ‘Hot seat’ was Preeti Panwar from Haryana. She quit the show after gaining Rs.25 lakhs.

This season will have five life liners. ‘Audience poll’ and ‘phone a friend’ will continue as last season. The duration for the latter has been increased to 45 seconds. ‘Ask an expert’ has been replaced with ‘flip the question’. Also, ‘50:50’ has replaced ‘double dip’. ‘Power paplu’ gives an opportunity to use any one of the four life liners mentioned above.

After Preeti, Sushma Mishra came on hot seat. She had won eighty thousand when the buzzer rang. She will continue on Saturday.

At the end of the show Sonu made a re-entry and both Sonu and Bachchan performed on a few numbers.
