Katrina Prays at Ajmer-Sarif amid objections from Dargah Head
Actress Katrina Kaif visited the Ajmer Dargah on Wednesday morning. She was accompanied by director of “Mere Brother ki Dulhan”, Ali Abbas Zafar. However, in recent days the head of Ajmer Dargah has expressed his displeasure.
He is irked at members of the film fraternity visiting the temple at the launch of a new film. According to him this is done for the promotion of the film, as the film-stars and their crew leave behind CD’s of their just to be released films. As also the paparazzi are always after them, they follow these actors to the holy shrine as well, to get a glimpse of them and to collect hot gossip to sell thereafter. This prevents the common man to access the shrine.
Katrina Kaif, though, has maintained a low profile when she visited the Dargah. She was clad in a black salwar kameez, with a black dupatta. She visited the Shrine in the wee hours, at morning, 6.30 am. As it is the holy month of Ramzan going on, she decided not to disturb people; hence she made the trip in the morning.
Khadim Qutubuddin Saikh, of the Dargah said "Since its Ramzan, the dargah is crowded with people during the entire day. To prevent any chaos, she preferred visiting the shrine in the wee hours of the morning. She was here for half an hour and untied a mannat ka dhaga that she had tied when she visited last."
It may be likely that Katrina is praying for the success of her upcoming movie “Ek Tha Tiger”, which is to be released on the occasion of Eid. It is after a long time that she has paired with her ex-boyfriend, Salman Khan. Salman plays the protagonist in the movie, as Manish, a spy in intelligence agency RAW. It’s inspired from the story of deceased RAW agent Ravinder Kaushik. The film is being directed by, Kabir Khan, whose last movie “New York” was a huge hit. It featured Katrina too.
The film was shot
in two parts; the first schedule was shot at Trinity College Dublin, Ireland.
The second was shot in Istanbul, Turkey. This formed the perfect backdrop for
action sequences in the flick. The stunt directors who worked in the movie ‘Bourne
Identity’ were roped in for the movie. The shooting of ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ though
was stalled in between, because Salman had to undergo a surgery in USA, to
treat his facial nerve disorder.
