Kareena, Ranbir set to share the stage on Indian Idol 6 finale
Kareena Kapoor and her cousin Ranbir Kapoor will be sharing the same platform for the first time. The occasion is the finale of Indian Idol 6. The two haven’t done a single frame together, though both had tasted success in their own ways. It will be exciting to see them appear together in the set of the popular reality show.
Both will be promoting their movie thorough the idiot box. Kareena will be talking about her project ‘Heroine’, while Ranbir will be discussing about his upcoming venture ‘Barfi’! Both the movies have different story line. The tentative release of ‘Barfi’ is on 14th September, while ‘Heroine’ will be releasing a week later, on 21st September.
‘Barfi’ is the story of a small town boy Murphy aka Barfi (Played by Ranbir Kapoor) .He is a hearing and speech impaired, who falls in love with Shruti (Played by Ileana D’Cruz) a normal girl. Ileana is forced to marry a ‘normal’ guy due to peer pressure. Years later they cross roads, when Barfi is madly searching for Jhilmil (Played by Prikanya Chopra). Jhilmil is a mentally challenged person, affected with autism. It makes Shruti realize if there is any difference between ‘normal’ and ‘abnormal’ as per the norms layed out by society.
‘Heroine’ is however on an entirely different note. It depicts the story of a top notch actress in Bollywood. It tells the story of her desires, aspirations, strength and weakness. Kareena had described her character by saying “bipolar and schizophrenic". She was the initial choice of director Madhur Bhandarkar for the role. But she denied the role, as it involved intimate scenes with her co-actors and also several bold scenes, like smoking a cigarette. The role went to Aishwarya Rai. But she left the movie midway due to her pregnancy. Bhandarkar, who had earlier cast Kareena in Chanting Bar, re-approached her with the role and convinced her by handing her the complete script of the movie.
Kareena was indeed
happy about the role and had said on the first day of shoot, “Welcome its day
one of Madhur Bhandarkar Heroine. As you all know, I'm part of this movie now.
I'm obviously nervous and super-excited. This would be a milestone in my career
and I aim to make it my career best performance, with Madhur Bhandarkar help
and your love and support.”
