Kareena Kapoor opposite Hollywood hunk Jared Leto in ‘Gandhi Park’

Kareena Kapoor is definitely going for different movies these days. She will be seen in an ‘East-West’ film titled Gandhi Park opposite Hollywood hunk Jared Leto. The film is to be directed by Kolata Tom George, a Kerela based chartered accountant turned film specialist. Gandhi Park will be released in New York on January 20.
“It is going to be every Indian's film. It is a film that will highlight the contribution of the global Indian,” said George. He also disclosed that twenty percent of the film is to be shot in North India, in places like, New Delhi's India Gate and Agra's Taj Mahal.

Apart from Kareena Kapoor, veteran actors such as Naseeruddin Shah, who is to play a New York transit system official, Shernaz Patel in the role of Shah’s wife who is also a nurse and R Madhavan will also be seen in the film. Kareena will play the role of Shah and Patel’s daughter who is a pharmacist and violinist in love with an American, Jared Leto [Alexander, The Fight Club and The Thin Red Line]. Madhavan will play the key role in the film of a capable software engineer who works for Bill Gates.

The film is to be produced by a US based company and has been scripted by David Linter, Hollywood’s popular screenwriter.

Here’s a little something about George: He has lived in New York for 10 years and is not new to making films, as he has already produced a few Malayalam films like Akale, National Award-winning director Shyamaprasad's version of Tennessee Williams's The Glass Menagerie.

“Too many films coming out of this country [US] these days tend to focus on India's poverty,” said George. “They end up giving the world a terribly lopsided view of the country.”

We hope this one turns out to be a biggie for Bebo!
