Karan Johar reacts to KRK-Ajay Devgn controversy
Karan Johar has finally reacted to the controversy that he has paid Kamal Rashid Khan aka KRK to speak negative things about Ajay Devgn’s upcoming film ‘Shivaay’ and praise his own ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’.
According to Karan Johar, his self-respect, reputation, company's reputation and his upbringing doesn't allow him to dignify the asked question with a response, stated The Times of India in a report.
Both ‘Shivaay’ and ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ are highly awaited films of the year and are set to lock horns at the box-office on October 28.
Yesterday, Ajay shared an audio clip of a telephonic conversation between self-styled film critic KRK and his business associate Kumar Mangat, in which KRK could be heard saying that Karan paid him Rs. 25 lakhs to badmouth ‘Shivaay’ and tweet positive things about ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’.
Following the exposé, Ajay demanded an investigation by authorities to find out if Karan had indeed paid 25 lakhs as KRK claimed. After his taped conversation went viral, KRK held a press conference and contradicted his statement in the audio, and instead, accused Ajay of paying him.
Ajay then released a statement which reads, "We have only made you aware of what KRK has said. He is contradicting himself in explanations about what he has said in the recording and what we all have just heard in his postured press conference. He has not denied that it was his voice in the recording and he is now making excuses and contradicting himself. Where is the sanity here? You have heard what I have heard. It is up to you all to decide. It's his word against his own word."
