Kangana to star in Sanjay Bhansali’s next?
Kangana Ranaut is on cloud 9 these days. After the success of ‘Queen’, the actress is getting offers from many popular production houses. The latest gossip is that the director Sanjay Leela Bhansali is also keen to work with Kangana.
After producing ‘Mary Kom’, the director is planning to do another biopic with Ranaut, we hear.
"Bhansali is fascinated by the way his biopic is shaping up and has already started planning another one in the same genre," says an industry source. On being asked about the duo’s meeting, the source told us, "They had a long discussion, where Bhansali shared a rough idea of his plans for the film."
While his production is about a sports personality, Bhansali’s directorial may be based on a personality from another walk of life. The source says, “It’s not about any celebrity from the entertainment industry; rather, it’s about an achiever from a different field."
When Kangana was contacted to confirm this development, she refrained from divulging any details. “I can’t speak about my meeting with Bhansali. I am meeting many people and I will speak once things are confirmed,” the ‘Queen’ actress said. Sanjay Leela Bhansali remained unavailable for comment.
In December last year, before Kangana had left for New York to work on her upcoming films, Aanand L Rai's ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ sequel and Sai Kabir's ‘Divine Lovers’, there had been rumors that she had met director Sanjay and the two had a private meeting over a film’s discussion.
Revealed a source, "Before Kangana left for New York to complete her screenwriting course, she had a hush-hush meeting with Bhansali at his office where they discussed collaborating on a film together."
“Kangana had liked the idea and had expressed her interest to be a part of the film which will flag off only in late 2015," added the source.
Sanjay has worked with powerhouse of talent Manisha Koirala, former Miss World Aishwarya Rai, Sonam Kapoor and Deepika Padukone. And with Kangana joining this prestigious league, we know that the film will certainly be worth a watch. After all, Bhansali has an uncanny knack of projecting his leading ladies in the most gorgeous way possible.
Meanwhile, Kangana Ranaut had directed a short film, ‘The Touch’, in collaboration with an Australian writer. But even as parts of the film were shown on a recent chat show, and it was appreciated, the actor isn’t keen on releasing it. “It was not made for a theatrical release. I hadn’t made it for festivals, either” says Kangana.
Well..that’s that but if Kangana and Sanjay do cook up a film, it will surely be an interesting watch!
