Kangana Ranaut turns muse for Manish Malhotra’s new bridal collection

Renowned fashion designer Manish Malhotra has roped in actress Kangana Ranaut as the muse for his latest bridal collection. The ace designer who is a favourite with several Bollywood actresses, usually refrains from using a celebrity to front his campaigns, but for this season he has taken a different route.

He has also switched to darker tones and edgier look for his latest collection. Speaking about why he picked Kangana for his campaign, Manish said, "For me Kangana is talented, beautiful, hardworking, confident, speaks her mind and has achieved so much and for me that is my bride."

Manish took to his Instagram and shared pictures of the ‘Queen’ actress showcasing his creations. He described the look as ‘modern-day Maharani’ and hashtagged the pictures #Vintagelook #Gorgeous #kangana #beautiful #timeless #style #EmbrodieryArt #Badlawork #handcrafted #lehanga #oldworldcharm #antique #jewels, in the caption.

Kangana looks stylish and royal in Manish Malhotra outfits. The actress was stunning in blacks and deep reds, set against a gold, black and baroque backdrop of antiquities.

Kangana is seen "depicting a modern-day Maharani. The visual showcases the opulence that has always been synonymous with the label. In one image, Kangana is seen pairing a sherwani with vintage checks trousers to create a distinct look bridging the traditional with the contemporary. The second visual sees Kangana looking resplendent in a flowy, burgundy handcrafted lehenga," according to a statement.

"With the new collection we revived a lot of old craft. The embroidery has taken us a lot of time to do. It's all the old work embroidery but the silhouettes are more modern and global," Manish said about his new collection.

Manish also shared a picture of him posing with his muse. Kangana's sister Rangoli too shared some behind-the-scenes pictures from the shoot.

The designer will showcase the collection at the India Couture Week 2016 beginning from July 20 to 24 at the Taj Palace Hotel in New Delhi.
