Kangana Ranaut meets with a major accident in US

Kangana Ranaut “miraculously escaped unhurt” after she met with an accident in US. Kangana and her team was shooting in the US Hansal Mehta’s Simran, in the US for over a week now.

The accident happened when the ‘Queen’ actress and her team was returning from the shooting location, located outside Georgia, to their hotel in Atlanta, the state’s capital. “A local driver was behind the wheel and was driving in the leftmost lane (meant for fast-moving traffic) on highway 381. Suddenly, he started coughing profusely and then blacked out while on the move,” says an insider.

Kangana’s local bodyguard, seating next to the driver tried to take control of the steering but failed as it moved  right and left and finally banged into an iron fence.

“Everyone was scared at that point. But luckily, none of them got hurt. Kangana had a few minor scratches on her elbows and her forehead that bled a little, but nothing major happened. Similarly, Kangana’s team members also suffered a few minor injuries,” adds an insider.

The local police reached the spot within minutes of the accident. Kangana “made sure that everyone else was well looked-after”. “Later, the film’s makers ensured that Kangana and the others went to the hospital for checkups to ensure no one suffered from any internal injuries,” says the insider.

Without taking any break, Kangana resumed work the next day. “The entire unit is stationed there. So, she didn’t want to stall the shoot due to the accident, despite the fact that the makers were ready to take a break,” adds the source.

The National Award- winning were unavailable for the comment but producer Shailesh R Singh says, “It was a narrow escape. It’s a miracle that they had no injuries. Kangana is a brave girl. She refused to take a break and has resumed the shoot.”
