Kangana meets with an accident in US; escapes unhurt

Kangana Ranaut recently met with an accident in the US, but had a “miraculous escape” and was unhurt. The accident took place on Wednesday, October 12 in the Georgia, where the actress has been shooting for Hansal Mehta’s ‘Simran’ for over a week now.

A few members of the film’s team were also involved in the accident along with Kangana, but luckily, every managed to escape unhurt. The incident happened when the group was heading back to their hotel in Atlanta after completing the shoot for the day, according to a report in Hindustan Times.

The report quoted a source as saying, “A local driver was behind the wheel and was driving in the leftmost lane (meant for fast-moving traffic) on highway 381. Suddenly, he started coughing profusely and then blacked out while on the move.”

Kangana’s local bodyguard, who was sitting next to the driver, tried to take control of the steering wheel. But in his “nervousness” lost control the vehicle, which swerved to the right and cut through three of the highway’s lanes sharply, before banging into an iron fence.

“Everyone was scared at that point, but luckily, none of them got hurt. Kangana had a few minor scratches on her elbows and her forehead that bled a little, but nothing major happened. The team members also suffered a few minor injuries,” the source added.

The police reached the spot a few minutes later. Kangana ensured that everyone was well looked-after. Later, they were taken to a hospital for check-ups to ensure that no one suffered from any internal injuries.

The film’s shooting resumed the very next day as the ‘Queen’ actress didn’t want to stall the shooting due to the accident, although the makers didn’t mind her taking a break.

While the National Award- winning actor couldn’t be reached for a comment, producer Shailesh R Singh said, “It was a narrow escape. It’s a miracle that they had no injuries. Kangana is a brave girl. She refused to take a break and has resumed the shoot.”

Kangana will play an emotionally-demanding role of a divorcee in ‘Simran’, which is slated to release sometime next year.
