According to police, the actor is charged with Section 66 A of the IT Act. His case is registered in Seema Puri Police Station in North-East Delhi. The case was registered on Monday.
Kamaal Rashid Khan recorded a 8.52 minutes video on You Tube. He was reviewing movie ‘Raanjhanaa’. In his review, first he took a dig at the director of the movie for choosing an inappropriate title. According to Kamaal, since ‘Raanjahanaa’ was not a romantic movie but a political thriller, putting ‘Raanjhanaa’ name was appropriate. He used many derogatory and abusing words for the director and the movie. Then he went on to take a dig at the lead cast of the movie, Dhanush. Kamaal used very derogatory words for Dhanush and tagged him as an incapable actor. He also pointed out the skinny figure of Sonam Kapoor and advised her to gain some weight. He recorded his video in Hindi.
Police told that Kaamal might get arrested also in this case. The complaint was filed by Dr Bheemrao Ambedkar Vichaar Manch. R L Kane, who is the secretary of Dr Bheemrao Ambedkar Vichaar Manch, said that the video was uploaded on You Tube on 29th July. He claimed that Kaamal has made casteist remarks against Dhanush.
Kamal Rashid Khan boasts of more than a lakh follower on twitter. He is known to throw nuisance on actors by speaking foul about them on social networking sites. The film fraternity had earlier approached Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) complaining about Kamaal. FWICE General Secretary Dinesh Chaturvedi had then said, “We have been told by many from the film industry that they want a complete ban on KRK. This man has been behaving in an irresponsible manner. He should learn to respect people and observe some restraint. But we can act against him, or issue him a show cause notice, only on a written complaint.”When Kamaal was contacted, he said, “My tweets are unique. I taught others how to make an impact. If AmitabhBachchan follows me, it's for a reason. I don't write what's popular. They say ‘Lootera’ is mind-blowing, brilliant. I say ‘Lootera’ is rubbish. I am nobody's servant. Nobody pays me to speak good. I tweet what I feel. I won't ever say anything to pander to someone. I am a very busy man. When I spend my few precious minutes every day on Twitter, I better get to express my view.”
