One of the most lovable celebrity couples of Bollywood is Ajay Devgn and Kajol. Their onscreen love turned into off screen romance and they subsequently married each other.
shooting for the movie ‘Hulchul’ (1995), they fell for each other. Both were
leading co-stars. After a long courtship of four years, Ajay Devgn and Kajol
tied the nuptial knot on 24th February,
1999. They are blessed with two kids, daughter Nysa and son Yug.
Music composer Anu Malik shares a great rapport with both Kajol and Ajay. He feels that his songs were the reason for the on screen couple to come closer in real life. He said, “They never admit to this, but I have a strong suspicion that it was my song 'I am 16' in the film ‘Hulchul’ starring the couple that brought them together. They'll never say it, how they fell in love, but they were magical in that song and I think it all started from there.”
He further added, “I don't know whether I'm Kajol's lucky mascot or she is mine but we have had some great hits. I feel a karmic connection with Kajol and Ajay.”
They are one of the most balanced couple of Bollywood. Though, Ajay was dragged into controversy over extra marital relationships, the couple was never perturbed by such rumors. They both managed their professional and personal life nicely. After marriage, Kajol took up very few movies and diverted her attention towards her family.
After a few years of their marriage, Ajay founded a home production company and expanded his work to production and direction. Kajol gave him company. She started actively participating in the home production business. She also did cameo in Karan Johar movies.
Post marriage, when the couple got on screen together in a movie, Ajay said, “It’s fun! It’s always good to work with her. Kajol has always been my favourite co-star. It was great when we again faced the camera as co-stars.”
Talking about Kajol, Ajay said, “If any story excites her, she would do it. It doesn’t matter if I am there or somebody else is there. If she feels it’s right for her, she would go ahead with it.”According to Ajay, their daughter is also a fond of mom’s acting. He said, “She (Nysa) called all her friends to watch the movie and she was proudly hosting that screening. She loved the movie and she loved her (Kajol) on the screen. Yug (his son) is too small to understand what’s going on but I am sure he too will behave the same way when he grows up enough to see the film.”
