Kajol, Madhuri, Alia attend Shree Shakti Women Awards

Bollywood’s top beauties were present at the Shree Shakti Women Achievers Award in Mumbai on Wednesday. Actresses Alia Bhatt, Madhuri Dixit and Kajol were seen at the event as well.

According to reports, Alia Bhatt interacted with the media after the awards show and said, “It was a lot of fun! For the first time I performed on Patakha Guddi for a televised event so it was a lot of fun. We had a little hip-hop and we had this little cool kids doing this athletic things at the back so it was a power-packed performance.”

Jacqueline Fernandez, Raveena Tandon, Sharman Joshi, Sangram Singh and Payal Rohatgi were also seen at the programme.

The first-time awards are an initiative taken up by Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde’s daughter, Smruti Shinde and Vikas Gulati of SOBO Films to honour women achievers in India. The event celebrated the lives of women who have made themselves famous in today’s progressive society with the presence of a man keeping faith in the endless possibilities that life has to offer.

Gulati was quoted as saying, “The Stree Shakti Awards is an opportunity to connect and honour women who have been dynamic and ambitious to achieve their dreams and aspirations. We are definitely planning to continue organizing Stree Shakti Awards over the years. It will be a great inspiration to the youth of our nation which is the backbone of our country.”

Smruti Shinde added saying, “Madhuri will be performing the Navras which is like a mixture of nine songs or nine raas. It is very different than her performances earlier. She was extremely excited to do this dance as the concept was new to her. She will also be doing a song from ‘Gulaab Gang’ which was one of her powerful movies depicting women empowerment. The concept was new to her. On listening to it, she was thrilled with the concept and agreed to dance on it.”
