Watch 'Kai Po Che' mind-blowing trailer
Chetan Bhagat’s book “The 3 Mistakes of My life?” has been adapted into a film. The film has been titled “Kai Po Che”. Interestingly the actors for this film are Amit Sadh, Sushant Singh Rajput and Rajkumar Yadav. The first two names are in a way household names for many as they both begun their career from television and this is their debut film.
This film has been directed by Abhishek Kapoor, who had directed ‘Rock On’ which marked the debut of Farhan Akhtar as an actor. The trailer which is of 2-minutes duration shows the three friends chatting, sitting inside their car on a highway. It then turns out that they have not been driving all that long but had their car rested on a trailer. The film’s trailer is brimming with moments from their lives which show male bonding at its peak. It is an ode to friendship and the camaraderie one shares with close friends.
There are a few intimate scenes between Rajkumar Yadav and Amrita Puri, of “Aisha” fame, who plays a docile and timid teacher in this film.
Sushant Singh Rajput looks impressive in the trailer. His acting ability was never doubted as he always did a good job on television. His rugged look is suiting him well. And the intensity with which he acts is palpable. The film explores religion, cricket and business through the three friends. There is also a political twist in the story. Indian cricketer Ajay Jadeja will also be seen doing a cameo in the film.
Sushant Singh Rajput will also be seen in “Peekay” that stars Aamir Khan and Anushka Sharma. This film is being directed by Rajkumar Hirani.
Abhishek Kapoor mentioned that this film was really difficult to make. At the wrap-up party of this film, he said, “It is a difficult film to make and it took me more than two-and-a-half to three years to put this story together.” He also said that he purposely chose newcomers who have no glamour attached to their identity to extract pure performances.
“Kai Po Che” is a Gujarati slogan which can be defined as an exultant yell that is used mostly during Makar Sankranti. The film has been shot entirely in Gujarat. It looks promising from its trailer and is all set for a release on the 22nd of February, 2013. It has been given a U/A certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification.
