‘Kai Po Che’ collects 4.5 crore on the opening day
‘Kai Po Che’ opened with a rave reviews and awesome collection at the box-office. The movie earned Rs 4.5 crore on the opening day at the domestic box-office. Based on Chetan Bhagat’s famous novel, ‘The 3 Mistakes Of My Life’, the film was released on Friday in 1000 theatres worldwide.
The film is based on three close ambitious and energetic friends played by Sushant Singh Rajput, Amit Sadh and Raj Kumar. Amrita Puri of ‘Aisha’ is the only female lead of the movie. Made on a budget of Rs12 crore, the movie was produced by UTV.
"It's a fantastic start for Kai Po Che! and it will only keep on growing over the weekend. We are looking at a big weekend. Also, the film will also have a sound week one and will have a long run at the theatre because of the appreciation that it is getting to sustain this super box office run,” Gaurav Verma, director - India theatrical distribution, Studios, Disney UTV, said in a statement.
The film was released on 250 screens in the overseas market, including 109 in US, 54 in Britain, 35 in Gulf and 12 in Australia. ‘Kai Po Che’ was released in Gulf on Thursday and it has managed to collect $170,000 in two days.

The film registered 65% occupancy on the first day and it is expected to grow on Saturday and Sunday.
