Socha Na Tha director, Imtiaz Ali is finally going to be directing his next film. It is a musical love story titled Geet, which is to be produced by HMV and Shreya creations. The film will star Ayesha Takia and Bobby Deol.
Imtiaz says, the role played by Ayesha, will require a Punjabi accent and hence a dialect instructor will be appointed to help her. He claims that after having worked with Ayesha in Socha Na Tha, he thought that she would be able to portray this role quite well. He chose Bobby as the male lead, as he suited the role of a rich industrialist. Also, Bobby had read the script earlier on and accepted the role.
The plot has Bobby and Ayesha meeting in a train. Bobby doesn’t know where he is headed; he is tremendously frustrated, professionally and personally. He is almost driven to the point of suicide. Bobby’s character is very brooding, silent and withdrawn; he doesn’t have any friends. Takia is going to Bhatinda via Delhi. She is the complete opposite of Bobby, vivacious and bubbly.
Imtiaz will also be doing another film, Highway with Sunny Deol. Besides Highway he will be doing two other films, one of them is with a big star and the other one is with a young actor. For now the director has his kitty full, and looks forward to start Geet in mid March.
