Ileana D’Cruz planning legal action against ‘Aankhen 2’ makers?
Amitabh Bachchan and Arjun Rampal will reprise their roles, while Arshad Warsi and Anil Kapoor will replace Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal respectively. South actress Regina Cassandra will be making her Bollywood debut with the film, but there seems to be some confusion regarding Ileana D’Cruz starring in the film.
While only Big B, Arshad and Regina were present during the event, the whole cast was introduced through a mashup video shots of the actors, in which the ‘Rustom’ actress was also seen. Amitabh Bachchan had also confirmed that Ileana is a part of the sequel of the heist franchise.
However, it came as a shock when Ileana’s manager came forward and denied that the actress was doing the film. The actress also took to Twitter and cleared the airs by posting, “For all those asking, I have not signed #Aankhen2...”
Reportedly, Ileana was offered the film, but she turned it down, and the announcement was made without her knowledge or permission. The actress is not happy about it and is mulling to take legal action against producer Gaurang Doshi and director Anees Bazmee.
Following the accusations by Ileana, Gaurang Doshi revealed that he and director Anees had met Ileana and her manager two days before the launch. She had loved the script and had said that she would sign the movie in a week as her agency takes as much time to process the paperwork.
The producer also said that the casting announcement for the film was not done for the sake of publicity and added, “My film doesn't require her (Ileana) to get funds...She will not get me funds. Also, why would I put her in promo. If I wanted to put promo of a heroine I would have put Katrina Kaif or any other big heroine.”
Surprised with Ileana’s such behavior, Doshi said, “We have been trying to speak to her to find out what went wrong, she doesn’t seem to want to speak to us. Someone has definitely misguided her. But looks like we’ll have to get a better actress on board too.”
