IIFA: Deepika Padukone refuses to share stage with Priyanka Chopra

Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra worked together in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s blockbuster period drama ‘Bajiroa Mastani’. They two ladies shared an amazing bond and chemistry in the ‘Pinga’ song. Priyanka had also appeared in an item dance in Deepika and Ranveer Singh starrer ‘Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela’.

However, if the latest buzz is to be believed, all is not well between the two Bollywood divas. Speculations were rife that Deepika and Priyanka have been sharing cold vibes ever since they bagged their Hollywood projects.

Both of them are currently attending the 17th International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards ceremony in Spanish capital Madrid. Reportedly, the organisers of the four-day gala approached Deepika and Priyanka to dance together to this hit song ‘Pinga’. While the ‘Quantico’ actress was enthusiastic about the prospect, Deepika apparently refused to shake a leg alongside Priyanka, and backed out.

A Pinkvilla report quoted a source as saying, "Though the two actors hugged each other, they have been maintaining distance from each other, and the issue seems to be rising out of insecurity. Priyanka is a known name in Spain, courtesy, her second season of ‘Quantico’ released there, whereas Deepika is still making her mark in Hollywood. So she was a little concerned that Priyanka might hog the limelight and hence refused to dance with her."

"There have also been whispers of the pay disparity between both the actresses and one hears, Priyanka is raking in more moolah than Deepika, which is also one of the reasons for the latter's denial," the source added.

Deepika will make her Hollywood debut in January next year opposite action star Vin Diesel with ‘XXX The Return of Xander Cage’. On the other hand, Priyanka is busy shooting for the second season of her American television series ‘Quantico’. She will also be seen in her maiden Hollywood film ‘Baywatch’ starring Dwayne Johnson, Zac Efron and Alexandra Daddario among others.
