Hrithik Roshan’s ‘Krrish 3’ in legal trouble
Ahead of the film release, the scriptwriter of ‘Krrish 3’ was dragged to the Bombay High Court over copyright violation. A scriptwriter from Madhya Pradesh, Uday Singh Rajput has slapped Rs 2 crore as compensation. He claimed that he wrote the script of ‘Krrish 3’ and the makers are not ready to give me credit.
The makers of the film also moved to the court claiming that Rajput’s plea should be rejected and made an appeal to the court that the release date of the film should not be disturbed. Rakesh Roshan urged the court that no relief should be given to Uday Singh in this matter.
Judge SJ Kathawala will be hearing both petitions. Rajput claimed that way back in 2008, he has submitted the script of sequel to ‘Krrish’ under the title ‘Krrish 2’ to the Film Writers Association He added that later he has sent a copy to Rakesh Roshan for consideration, but he received no response from him.
He claims a few days ago he realized that his script had been used by Roshan to make Krrish 3, but the credit was given to one Robin Bhatt.
Advocate of Uday Sigh Rajput, Rekha Mehta, said, “We wrote to Roshan and demanded he give us due credit, but there was no positive response from their side. Thus we moved the high court seeking a compensation of Rs2 crore and as interim relief, sought an injunction on the release of the film, scheduled to be released on November 1.”
Roshan’s company, Film Kraft Productions Limited, has moved the court, asking the court not to disturb the release date of the film.
‘Krrish 3’, the third installment of the successful franchises is slated
for Diwali release. The film stars Hrithik Roshan, Priyanka Chopra, Vivek
Oberoi and Kangana Ranaut in the lead.
